Frequently Asked Questions

Looking for reliable roofing professionals? Roof Bids makes it easy to connect with local, vetted roofing contractors who are ready to tackle your project—whether it’s a simple repair, a full roof replacement, or emergency storm damage repairs.

How does Roofbids work?

+

-

Roofbids allows you to submit your roofing project details and receive quotes from local, vetted roofing contractors all online.  You enter your address, answer a few questions, upload some photos, and then sit back.  All of your information, including full roof measurements, get sent to only a select few of our vetted roof partners for them to provide you with a quote.  Once the roof partner uploads their quote information into their portal the information will show up on your dashboard in a side-by-side comparison for you to review.  Simply select your roof partner and they will contact you to get started.

We do all of your homework for you and deliver a quality roof contractor for your project.  No salespeople, no sharing of your information with 20 companies, no headaches.  Get started now!

Is Roofbids free to use?

+

-

Yes, Roofbids is completely free for homeowners to use. You can compare quotes without any obligation or cost.

How long does it take to get my roof quotes?

+

-

Most users receive quotes within 24 to 48 hours after submitting their project details.  Things that slow us down are excessive tree coverage, access to the property (i.e. long dirt roads where trucks need to be careful not to get stuck - this happens!), and sometimes a tricky roof line, but these are all rare.  It is in everyones best interest to get you your information as quickly as possible so that is our goal!

What types of roof materials can I get quotes?

+

-

You can get quotes for asphalt shingles, metal roofs, tile roofs, flat roofs, and more.  You can get any type of roof system available becasue we work with many different contractors that specialize in different materials.  However, please note, that the more specialized a roof system is the fewer contractors there are available to quote that project.  For example, a stonecoated metal roof system (metal shaped and painted to look like tile or shingles) is a specialty roof system that not all contractors have available to them, and, more importantly, don't have the crews to do a proper installation.

Are the contractors on Roofbids verified?

+

-

Yes, all contractors on Roofbids go through a verification process to ensure they are licensed, insured, and reputable.  This is not a simple and easy for them, as our 20 point application is very detailed, and generally takes weeks and sometimes months before a contractor gets fully vetted and then approved.  We don't just take their information and approve them. That would be too easy for them!  We research them ourselves to find out more information, and then we actually speak to the owners of the business and those who work for them.  Yes! We TALK to them to get to know them.  If an owner or other high level management isn't willing to talk to us, do you think they will be willing to talk to you if there is a problem?  This is a critical step in our process so we take the vetting of our roof partners very serious!  This is construction. Sometimes there are issues.  You want someone who is going to respond to you so we make sure they are always there and ready to answer your calls.

Why do I need to provide photos of my house?

+

-

No, we aren't trying to steal ideas for our flower bed from your photos.  We don't need pictures of your roof.  Please don't get up on your roof!  The photos and measurements of your roof actually come from a company called Eagleview.  They are highly referred to as the best in the roofing business because of the detail they get with their photos.  The photos we need are from the ground and around your house to give our roof partners a better understanding of everything they will encounter without having to show up at your house.  Things like fencing, types of driveways, shrubs, and breakable items are all reviewed so that the contractor can address them properly when submitting your proposal and when they eventually get on property to do the roof project.  The more details we provide the better they like it!

Will I be able to compare quotes from different contractors?

+

-

Absolutely. Roofbids is designed to let you easily compare pricing, services, and reviews from multiple contractors all in a simple side-by-side comparison on your dashboard.  It's one of our best features. We don't have a good side or a bad side, we have a side-by-side.

What if I have questions about a quote I received?

+

-

You can message the contractor directly through Roofbids to clarify any part of the quote.

Is there any obligation to accept a quote?

+

-

No, you're never obligated to accept a quote you receive through RoofBids.  BUUUUT, we did spend a lot of time, money, and effort to set up the whole process for you to use and it would really hurt our feelings if you left us for someone else. Yes, a website can have feelings, too.  If you have any questions or concerns about your quotes please don't hesitate to Contact Us at support@myroofbids.com.

Will I get a contract from RoofBids or the roof partner?

+

-

Great question!  You will be working with the licensed roof contractor.  We said it before and we will say it again (our attorney told us to), RoofBids is NOT a licensed roof contractor.  Therefore, your contract will be directly with the roof contractor.  We highly recommend that you read through the contract in detail to make sure you understand everything.  RoofBids provides you with the highlights of the quotes, and while it is the main important parts of the quote, there is a lot of information that you must completely understand.  Feel free to contact us if you have any questions about the contract you receive at support@myroofbids.com
